Plus, they are very familiar with local bird habitats and behaviors, so we were able to efficiently find and photograph many different birds. I had the pleasure of attending a February, 2020 workshop with Nick Leadley and Dave Meardon of Florida Bird Photo Adventures. I went to the workshop with expectation of see ing Roseate Spoonbills and hoping to see a Reddish Egret and Tricolored Heron. I saw those and much, much, more. Nick and Dave were wonderful guides and teachers. I am an experienced bird photographer and still learned a few things to improve my skills. They taught me to identify birds I don’t often get to see. They taught me some background on many birds. I highly recommend Nick and Dave and their Florida workshops.

You're looking for an experience that will add to your knowledge of birds and bird photography. You also want to be taken to the best places in southwest Florida to see and photograph the incredible bird life there. Stop looking - you've found it.

In my opinion, Nick and Dave have put together an unbeatable package: expert local knowledge (Dave is a 35-year Sanibel resident); expertise as long-time professional photographers specializing in birds and bird behavior; and the best value you will find. These guys had me out for three FULL days - many different sites, helpful advice, image review, then out for more photos.

​

I came away from the experience with increased knowledge of birds and photography in general. And a couple of thousand images too! I learned more about my own Nikon D500 through their guidance, and I am now more comfortable with some of the tricky exposure situations in photographing birds. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 

 

Note - while Nick and Dave go back a long way, Florida Bird Photo Adventures is a new venture for them, so they are not that well known - yet. My advice is simple - book now.
